In normal circumstances, when we are young, our balance and co-ordination is good, or at least
adequate. As toddlers, we are very well balanced on our feet with good head and back
alignment. However, in later life, our ability to be well balanced on our feet becomes impaired;
this can also be the case with certain medical conditions, such as Parkinson’s Disease,
Osteoporosis, Arthritis. This can leave us with a fear of falling. I can resonate with this. In 2015 I
broke my left wrist in four places, whilst on holiday in Australia! Following a bone scan it was
discovered that I had the onset of Osteoporosis in my lower spine. I therefore developed this
workshop to look at body alignment with emphasis on balance and co-ordination in everyday
movements.
